On the 7th of March, at approximately 11:30 p.m. an unknown male suspect broke into businesses in the 600 block of Queen Street East. It is unknown what was taken at this time but there were damages to the property that will run between $150,000 and $200,000 to repair. There were broken windows, doors, boiler radiators removed from walls, and significant water damage.

Crime Stoppers of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District in partnership with Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers and the Elliot Lake Ontario Provincial Police are looking for your assistance in the matter of a break, enter, and theft.

Sometime during the overnight hours of January 26th,2023, unknown suspects attended a retail location on Ontario Avenue in Elliot Lake. The suspects broke into the location and stole various electronics, including two large-screen televisions, a DVR, and a safe. A display case was also broken into and several cellular phones were stolen. 

The estimated value of the stolen property and cash taken is $25,000.

A black Mission snowmobile trailer was reported stolen from Mile 38 Road in Tilly Township north of Sault Ste Marie. A tri-fold snowmobile ramp was also reported stolen from the area.  Police located and recovered the snowmobile trailer in the City of Sault Ste Marie, but the ramp remains outstanding.   A catalytic converter was also cut from a parked Ford F150 truck at the beach parking lot of Lower Island Lake in Aweres Township.

In the early afternoon of 21 October 2022 three individuals entered Great Lakes Outfitters, located at 162 Old Garden River road. The three suspects each grabbed armfuls of snow suits and boots and ran out of the store. A little after midnight on the 24 October the individuals returned, breaking into the store taking more items. Over $1000.00 worth of items were stolen.

On 28 September 2022 at around 10:45 PM someone set fire to the front part of a house on Pretoria Hill. An accelerant was used to start the fire causing extensive damage to the front entrance of the residence. 

A neighbor's video surveillance camera captured an unknown person walking to the house and shortly after the fire started walking away.
