Break and Enter to Arthur's Funeral Home

On April 27, 2020, around 1:30 am, an unknown male suspect gained entry to Arthur’s Funeral Home from the west side of the building. He was caught on camera and can be seen wearing a red and black plaid vest with light coloured jeans. He left the property out the north side of the building. 

It is believed that nothing was taken at this time.

Break and Enter on Shaw Road (Trappers Camp)
May 19, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of Break Enter and Theft.

Sometime between April 5TH and April 20TH, 2020, unknown suspects attended a trap line residence on Shaw Road, north of the town of Thessalon, Ontario.

The Suspects gained entry to the residence and a shed by prying off the locks to both doors.

The suspects went through both buildings and took several items including two firearms.

The suspects also stole a red 2015 Arctic Cat All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).

Look at the list of items below that were taken during the incident.

  • A Red 2015 Arctic Cat All-Terrain Vehicle 

  • A 1984 30/30 Winchester long barrel, lever-action rifle

  • A .410 Savage over-under shotgun

  • 2 boxes of .22 caliber shells

  • 8 boxes of .410 caliber shells

  • A red Jobmate reciprocating saw

  • A Coleman lantern

  • A 7-inch boning knife

  • 10 skinning knives

  • A red jerry can

Attempted Robbery at Clyde's Variety Store
May 11, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the Batchewana Police Service is requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of attempted robbery.

On March 9th, 2020 at approximately 9:20 p.m. an unknown suspect entered Clyde’s convenience store located at 46 Gran Street, Batchewana First Nation, Ontario.

The male suspect demanded the store clerk to put all the twenties in what appeared to be a grey pencil case.

The suspect demanded the money a second time, this time referring that he would use a weapon.

The clerk attended the cash register but before the money could be given, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Look closely at the video, the suspect was wearing a blue sweater with the logo S&T group on it.

Theft at Rankin Confectionary

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police is requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of theft.

On April 9th, 2020 at approximately 10:20 a.m. an unknown suspect entered Rankin Confectionary located at 450 Frontenac Street, Batchewana First Nation, Ontario.

The male suspect can be seen wandering the store and waits for an opportunity to steal scratch tickets.

Once the employee becomes distracted, the suspect walks behind the counter and takes two bundles of scratch tickets with a value of $300. 

The male then exits the store with the tickets.

U-Haul Vandalized

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of mischief. 

Sometime between Friday, April 17, 2020, and Monday, April 20, 2020, a vehicle drove into the parking lot of Krown Rust Control at 831 McNabb Street. The suspect vandalized a 2017 GMC U-Haul and a 6x12 closed in U-Haul trailer.

It is believed that the suspect is a female. She is on camera getting out of her vehicle and spray painting both U-haul’s with black spray paint. She proceeded to paint the license plates, headlights, sides, and windshield. 

It is also reported that the suspect put gravel in the gas tanks before leaving the property.

Break and Enter on Huron Avenue in Blind River

Between February 25th and March 1st, 2020, unknown suspects attended a residence on Huron Avenue in the Town of Blind River, Ontario.

 

The Suspects gained entry by smashing a basement window at the rear of the residence.

 

The suspects rummaged through the home and taking the following items:

Lucky's Snack Bar Break and Enter

Between March 1st and March 2nd, 2020, unknown suspects attended a business on Front Street in the Town of Spanish, Ontario. 

The Suspects gained entry by breaking a padlock on the door.  

Once inside, the suspects smashed the glass doors to a commercial cooler.

After causing all this damage, the suspects stole one package of bacon and one package of chicken fingers.

Mischief and Theft on St. Joseph Island

On April 5th, 2020, a male suspect attended a seasonal residence on 5700 A Line, Jocelyn Township, Ontario.

The Suspect attempted to gain entry into a travel trailer by prying the door with an object.  

The suspect did not enter the trailer, however, he caused extensive damage to the door.

The suspect located two sheds on the property and was successful in gaining entry.

The suspect stole the following items:

  • A Honeywell tower heater

  • A Larin two-ton cable puller

  • A Pry bar

Between March 8, 2020, and March 9, 2020, unknown suspects attended a residence on Cedar Avenue in Hornepayne.

The suspects gained entry to the residence through the rear man door and once inside, it appears that the suspects went through the entire home.

The suspects located and stole several items including the following:

  • Approximately $5000 of Canadian Currency

  • A black leather wallet

  • A life insurance policy

Break and Enter on Echo Lake Road

On February 25, 2020, between the hours of 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, unknown suspects attended a residence on Echo Lake Road, Macdonald Township. 

The Suspects gained entry through a side door of the residence.

Once inside, the suspect went through the entire home removing items such as jewelry, a bell satellite, a wallet with identification, credit and debit cards.

The suspect also broke into a gun safe and removed a 20 gauge shotgun and a .22 calibre rifle.

Break Enter and Theft on 199 Peachy Road in Thessalon

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of Break Enter and Theft.

Between February 10, 2020, and February 11, 2020, two unknown suspects attended a business on Peachy Street in Thessalon.

The suspects entered two separate buildings on the property, entry was gained through the man doors.

Look at the pictures closely as the suspects can be seen on camera in one of the buildings.

Once inside, the suspects removed several items including the following:

  • A yellow Dewalt diesel heater

  • Two yellow jerry cans

  • A case of ATF fluids

The business has been broken into several times in the last few months and police believe it is the same suspects.

Break and Enter to Rankin Arena

Crime Stoppers and the Batchewana Police Service is requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a Break and Enter.

On February 18, 2020, at approximately 4:30 am, an unknown suspect attended the Rankin Arena located at 17 Batchewana Street, Batchewana First Nation.

The suspect gained entry through a man door on the west side of the building.

The suspect made their way to the canteen area and can be seen on video taking $150 cash and a bin full of cigarettes and candy bars.

The suspect also attended the garage area and stole several tools valued at $4,122.

Stolen Tools: 

-Stanley socket set in a black plastic carrying case with a value of $250

-Large electric Bosch hammer drill in a blue plastic carrying case with a value of $1,250

-Two Mastercraft Imperial and Metric wrench set were taken with a value of $500

-Black and yellow 18 volts Dewalt cordless drill with a value of $350

-Two adjustable wrenches with a value of $50

-Electric half-inch Bosch drill with a value of $400

-Mastercraft belt sander with a value of $80

-Screwdriver set, unknown make, in a carrying case with a value of $80

Theft of Mail on January 15, 2020

On January 15, 2020, at 1:39 am an unknown male suspect was caught on camera at 250 Albert Street attempting to break into several mailboxes. 

The suspect attempted to break into the Canada Post mailboxes located outside the front entrance before entering the lobby. While in the lobby, he successfully broke into a single mailbox taking the mail and leaving behind the flyers. 

The suspect left the apartment lobby at 1:42 am and was last seen heading East on Albert Street.
