Break and Enter on Garside Road
October 13, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of break, enter and theft.  

Between August 6th, 2020 and August 28th, 2020, suspects attended a camp on Garside Road, Hilton Township. Once at the property suspects broke the lock off of the shed and forced their way into the trailer. 

The suspects also stole numerous items before leaving the property valued at approximately $9,000.00. 

The following items were taken during the incident:

  • Yellow Champion 3500 – 4000 Watt generator

  • 15.5hp Yardworks riding lawn mower

$10,000 of Commercial Fishing Nets Stolen
October 05, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry are seeking the public’s assistance for information concerning a theft of commercial fishing nets.  

Allegedly, sometime between the 1st and 20th of September, in the late afternoon, between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm, commercial fish operators have had fishing nets and their content stolen from the Whalesback Channel. This is in the area of the North Channel of Lake Huron. A blue and lighter colored boat with a black motor has been observed in the area at the time of the thefts.

The estimated value of the stolen nets and content is $10,000.

Theft From Hawk Air Camps at Easey Lake

Sometime between July 8, 2020, and August 14, 2020, unknown suspects attended Easey Lake, north of Missinaibi where Hawk Air owns two camps. 

The suspects attended the Hawk Air camps where they removed

  • Charge Controller for solar panels

  • 6 cruise a day gas lines

Wallet Theft

Two Break and Enters Totalling Over $30,000
August 24, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in incidents of 2 separate break, enter and thefts.

 

Between July 31st, 2020 and Aug 6th, 2020 suspects attended a Maple Syrup business located in the area of Desbarats Lake Rd, Johnson Township.  Suspects cut the locks off the gate, generator shed, storage shed and vacuum shed.  Once inside suspects stole:

 

·Blue Dominion Grimm Releaser

·Lapierre Gear Pump Unit (Syrup Pump) 3/8”, 1/3 Horsepower

·CDL Beginner Bottling tool kit, includes 16”x16” sugar pan cover, filter holder and water tank

·2 Professional Series Home Plumber Surface Jet Pumps and fittings

·4 Jack Straps

·1 Rope Block

·Draw off three wheel cart with stainless steel tub

·2 Propane Stoves with fittings

·Lapierre Stainless Steel door (16”x24”)

·2 sets of climbing spurs

Total value of property taken is approximately $6800.00.

 

Between August 15th, 2020 at 8:30 pm and the morning of August 16th, 2020 suspects attended a Road Maintenance Construction worksite on Highway 129 in Daigle Township.  At the job site a sea can and office trailer were entered.  Suspects stole:

·770 Husqvarna cut off saw with gun and blade, gas powered

·16” Husqvarna chain

Key Stolen From Holiday Motel

Cat Loader Taken from Garden River First Nation Aggregate

Crime Stoppers and the Garden River Anishinabek Police Service are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of theft.  

On Friday, July 3, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. suspects entered the Garden River First Nation Aggregate compound located at 216 Noon Day Dr, Garden River First Nation. Once inside the compound suspects located a Cat Loader 992 and left the compound with the loader. While leaving the compound suspects had to push a barrier out of the way which caused the bucket to separate from the loader. Suspects left the compound toward Boss Lake.  

At some time through the night suspects returned the damaged Loader to the compound.

Firearms Taken in Break and Enter

Sometime between June 14, 2020, and June 23, 2020, unknown suspects attended a seasonal residence at Mekatina in Desbiens Township.
 
The suspects gained entry to the residence by forcing their way in the back door. The suspects stole numerous items before leaving the residence.
 
Look at the list of items below which were taken during the incident:
20 gauge Remington Pump Action Shotgun, matte black finish with NWTF engraved on the barrel 303 Bolt Action Military Style rifle circa WW2 Blue Solar Panel Inverter Renogy Solar Charge Controller 12VDC wire fed welder 120V angle grinder 4. 5” Large Stanley toolbox full of miscellaneous hand tools Dewalt 18V radio/battery charger Dewalt 18V skill saw Dewalt 18V drill Dewalt 18V snake light 3 Dewalt 18V batteries 4 60oz bottles of 40 Creek Whiskey 2 cases of beer Suspects also tampered with the ignition switch on an ATV which was parked in the backyard.

Break and Enter in Huron Shores
June 29, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of Break, Enter and Theft.

Sometime between Saturday, June 20, 2020, and Monday, June 22, 2020, unknown suspects attended a residence in the Municipality of Huron Shores.

The suspects gained entry by prying the patio doors. Once inside the residence, the suspects entered the garage through the connected mandoor where they stole numerous items.  

Stolen from the garage were: 

  • 2009 green Yamaha Grizzly ATV with a black/red insignia

  • 2011 green Yamaha Grizzly ATV with a blue/red insignia

Both ATVs have winches, very low mileage, axe holders with axes, chains with chain bolts in the storage compartments, bungee’s attached with steel slings, and Pillar Manufacturing decals on the gas tanks.

Also stolen was a 5hp Briggs and Stratton outboard motor, which was black with a broken white choke lever.

ATM Theft on March 10, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an incident of break and enter and theft. 

On March 10, 2020, around 4:00 am, two unknown suspects entered Market Mall and proceeded to steal an ATM Machine from Canada Post using a crowbar and a hammer. The ATM Machine contained up to $2,000 at the time of the incident. 

The ATM was later located at the intersection of Prentice Avenue and Donna Drive.

Break, Enter, and Theft at Batchewana Post Office
June 09, 2020

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Ontario Provincial Police are requesting your assistance in identifying suspects involved in an incident of a Break Enter and Theft.  

Sometime between the evening of April 23 and the morning of April 24th 2020, unknown suspects attended the Batchewana Post Office located on Hwy 563 in Herrick Township.  

The suspects gained entry to the post office by burning the lock off of the side door.  

Once inside the building the suspects attempted to burn the hinges off of the vault causing extensive damage. 

The suspects also stole numerous items prior to leaving the post office.

Look at the list of items below that were taken during the incident.

  • A HP printer with paper and labels

  • Numerous stamps for cancelling or redirecting mail

  • A P-Touch label machine

  • Numerous unusable gift cards

  • Numerous packaged parcels which included a parka, assorted makeup, king size comforter, 2 boxes of wine from the LCBO

  • A dog bed

  • A Koobo with attached light

  • A portable DVD player

Purse Theft on April 9, 2020

On April 9, 2020, in the afternoon, two unknown female suspects attended an apartment complex on MacDonald Avenue. While inside the suspects stole a purse from the common area by the elevator. 

The purse was later recovered but several of the contents were missing including a Samsung cell phone with a pink case valued at $600.
